Used as a trap within many a fatal dungeon, some smart adventurer dismantled one and began swinging it around. Thus was born the pendulum, a long metal shaft with a wide axe head on the end facing outward, with considerable weight and heft to it. So heavy and unbalanced is it, that a strength score of 13 is requires to properly wield it, or you take a -2 penalty to attack for insufficient strength.
