Okala was a Bajoran Militia officer serving aboard Deep Space 9. In 2373 she was on duty in Ops when she detected an incoming runabout transporting Captain Benjamin Sisko, Odo, Garak and Jadzia Dax. When they did not respond to hails, Okala reported to Worf that sensors indicated unusual EM signatures along the runabout's hull. Worf ordered her to remotely disengage the runabout's auto-pilot and bring it within transporter range. (DS9: "Things Past") Okala was played by actress Louahn Lowe. Her name was not spoken on screen, but rather, originated from the episode's script.
