Originally Task Force Coldfire was an idea which was put into action by Fleet Admiral Mollari and Jedi Knight Aaralyn Blackthorne to unite both the Jedi Order and the New Republic on a military front. It allowed the Jedi Order to have a solid fleet capable of acting on any military threat which presented itself in the Republic area of operations and assisted in a representing a cohesive front for both Republic and Jedi relations. Unfortunately, things made a turn for the worst a year after the Task Force was formed and it first saw action. When the Task Force was deployed in support of Operation: Alsakan to stop the Charon from destroying the Core World completely, the Task Force CO, Jedi Knight Aaralyn Blackthorne was captured by Sivter.
