Thirty-one quarterbacks have started for the National Football League's Kansas City Chiefs since their franchise began. The team has also had numerous backup quarterbacks that have stolen the spotlight from the starters. Brodie Croyle was the team's starting quarterback at the beginning of the 2008 season, but suffered an injury in the team's first game. In Croyle's absence, the Chiefs have used both Damon Huard and Tyler Thigpen as the starter in alternating weeks. Croyle returned to start in Week 7, and both he and Huard suffered season-ending injuries.
