The Dragons played in the Southern League for three years from 1975 to 1978. They then joined the English League North, and played there until 1982. The club then went on to play in the British Hockey League Division Two in 1983 and played in the lower-level BHL competitions until 1987. They also spent time in the English League. The club currently plays in the Laidler Conference (Northern Division 2) of the English National Ice Hockey League.
