The Enzo's carbon-fibre body was built using Ferrari's state of the art Formula 1 technology, alongside with advanced computerised driving aids such as traction control and active aerodynamics. It was also Ferrari's first road car to have carbon ceramic brakes as standard equipment. The V12 engine developed for the Enzo was the first of its design by Ferrari. Over 600 horse power and 485 pounds of torque are fed through an F1 originated electrohydraulic manual gearbox. The same engine was later fitted into the Maserati MC12.
