Holt Charnil was selected for the Agricultural Corps in 40 BBY. He remained with the AgriCorps until the Purge, when he escaped and went into hiding in Wild Space. A few years prior to the Battle of Yavin, he found Kali Suur, a Nautolan orphan with a stronger Force connection than his own, and took it upon himself to train her. He is called 'Master Charnil' because he is a very old teacher, not because he is a Jedi Master.
