Scientifically its been proven that humans tease or make cruel jokes about others because they are jealous. The person whom is being teased has something that the teaser does not, obviously there are a lot of people who are jealous of Micheal Jackson. :P So when someone is making one of those jokes just ignore them because they really wish M.J. was alive and they were him! :D Hope this answer helped. ~Personally I tell MJ jokes because I thought he was an idiot & the jokes reflect that. I don't think of them as cruel because the people hearing them didn't personally know MJ. They are attaching their feelings to his life because they can't find meaning in their own.
