191st Street is a station on the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of St. Nicholas Avenue and 191st Street in Manhattan, it served by the 1 train at all times. At approximately 160 feet (50 m) below street level, 191st St is the deepest station in the New York City Subway system. The section of the line through the station opened on March 12, 1906, but the elevators and other work had not yet been completed, and the station did not open to the public for another five years.
