George Bauer is a former NASCAR driver from Covington, KY. He competed in two Sprint Cup Series events in his career. Both of those races came in 1969, when Bauer debuted at Daytona, competing in the Daytona 500 qualifier event (then a points race). Starting 17th in the field of twenty-four, Bauer had mid-race engine failure and finished 23rd. But Bauer still was able to make the Daytona 500, where he ran a solid race in route to a career-best 21st place showing.
