Box Boys are ghosts hidden inside treasure chests so that when Mario jumps up and hits it, he and his partners will have to face them instead. Box Boys are extremely tough opponents, as they have high health as well as attack power and are immune to almost every magic or status ailment-inducing attacks. Box Boys also have many powerful special attacks, like Carni-Kiss, Blast, and Scream. The fastest (and rumored to be the only way to defeat them without dying) is Mario's Super Jump or Ultra Jump move, which happens to be their only weakness. After a Box Boy is defeated, Mario will gain a numerous amount of coins and experience.
