Midas flies are a type of flying insect first encountered in The Source of Magic, in the forest near the Magic Dust Village. As the name suggests it is gifted with the Magical ability to turn anything it touches into gold and as such is very dangerous. During the events in The Source of Magic, one character, Grinelle Griffin was turned to gold when she pushed Crombie out of the way. She has since been turned back during the Time of No Magic.
