The Gift of the Slaughter is a proscribed work by the Gaulish magus Marcenix of Diedne. Marcenix was slain in the early months of the Schism War by a band of Tremere, and his Covenant in Brittany sacked. Years later rumors of this book began to circulate, despite stern warning by various Quaesitores. As a tome of Diedne lore, possession of the book is a violation of the Code of Hermes.
