John Owens (b. 1942) is an actor who played the Red Bishop in the 1999 Creature Shop TV movie Alice in Wonderland. A frequent character actor in British television, Owens has guest starred on Doctor Who (as Thorpe in the 1971 story "The Daemons"), The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes, Mapp & Lucia, Lovejoy, Z Cars, The Two Ronnies, Marple, Look Around You, Panorama, Time Trumpet, Dinotopia, Coronation Street and many others. His film credits include Joanna, Scrooge, An American Werewolf in London, From Hell, Shanghai Knights, and Wolfman.
