"When the River Meets the Sea" is sung by Alice and Emmet Otter in Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, in remembrance of Emmet's deceased father. The song is reprised at the end of the special with the addition of Charlie, Harvey, and Wendell. John Denver and Robin the Frog performed the song on the album A Christmas Together. The song was also performed as part of the memorial service for Jim Henson, being performed by Jerry Nelson and Louise Gold. The song is performed again by Robin, Elmo, Kermit, Gonzo, Rowlf, Sal and Paul Williams during the closing medley on The Muppet Show Live.
