Omwatese was the native language of the Omwati species from Omwat. Omwatese used some odd tonal inflections, but was nevertheless considered an elegant language. There was a written form of Omwatese, which used a flowing script and letters that had to be combined to form words. Most Omwati were fluent in both Omwatese and Basic, being literate in both languages. After Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin came to the planet in search of a child who could be molded into a genius, the word "Tarkin" was absorbed in to the language as another word for Demon.
