João Mário Naval da Costa Eduardo (19 January 1993 in Porto), short-form João Mário, is a Portuguese football player, who currently is a player from Sporting Clube de Portugal. He serves as a central midfielder, although he played in his youth as right winger. João Mário is known for his solid passing ability, combined with a keen eye to tackle at the right time. One of his weaknesses are aerial duels. João Mário went through several u-nationalteams and is, since 2014, regurlaly appointed for the first Portugal national football team.
