An intercooler was a component of starship technology found on the Galaxy-class explorers. This component was located in the warp nacelles. There were at least two intercoolers within each nacelle.(TNG: "11001001" ) The name of this component was from the Master Situation Monitor found on Deck 36 of the USS Enterprise-D. It was listed among other components of the nacelles.
