At some point after its initial destruction, the remains of the asteroid was refitted into a space platform construct, serving as a pirate base. Following the influx of mercenaries into the Unknown Regions to participate in the Raider Wars, Bloodhaven came under mercenary control, serving as a base for various factions. As the war deescalated and the demand of mercenaries became more limited, tension between mercenary factions rose until open conflict erupted, beginning the War beyond the Veil, located within the Blackwatch Veil.
