The story is told without dialogue, from the perspective of Engineering crewman Tracey Carter, while on the Enterprise (NX-01), after the ship has been thrown back in time due to a Kovaalan particle wake. On November 19, 2037, Carter wakes up to find that she is nauseous. Every smell is hitting her hard, particularly, it's the smells surrounding her boyfriend, MACO Oscar Tiburón. She cautiously creeps to Sickbay, where Phlox attends to her. When Tiburón arrives, the doctor points to the readout from a scan, confirming that Carter is the first pregnant woman on the now-generational Enterprise.
