Hoatru is part of an ancient race with wings and eternal youth and life, also known as Angels. However, he is a hybrid between a Demon and an Angel . He appears first in Soul Calibur IV and reappears in Soul Calibur V. In Soul Caliburr IV he is referred as "A Soul of Pure Misguidance" What lies in his soul is Corruption.
