A jack-in-the-box is a toy cube that opens to one side revealing a small doll with on a spring that surprises the user. Rocket Raccoon had a jack-in-the-box with a Star-Lord doll inside. While trying to distract Collector to save Groot, Rocket gave the toy to Collector pretending it contained something valuable. After some struggling, Collector opened it and revealed the doll. He threw it away after realizing the ruse.
