Karen Winchester (neé Wright) was the adoptive mother of Kyle Winchester. After years of infertility and failed IVF, Karen and her husband Tom Winchester adopted Kyle. On 28th July 2013, Karen and Tom died of carbon monoxide poisoning, so Kyle went to live with Karen's mother Joanie Wright.
