Commonwealth Avenue is a main street in Boston. It runs from Public Garden in downtown Boston to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, where it ends on the campus of Boston College. For much of Commonwealth Avenue's length, an above-ground Green Line (B branch) trolley runs in the center of the road, between the lanes of vehicle traffic. Commonwealth Avenue also runs through the center of Boston University's main Charles River campus.
