Benny is the Serpent of Eden, who tempted Adam and Eve, his true name is unknown. When Illyria arrives in the city of Bete Noire, he called her trying to eat her (as he often did with newcomers); however they recognized each other. He appeared in the finale, in a destroyed New York, and grabbed Illyria's scythes.
