Ulandi was a Confederation officer. As a Sergeant he was a towering rock-solid figure and participated in the Marine Commando Six where he was known as Ulandi the Madman. During their fateful mission he had pulled out Spencer Banbridge saving his life as well as Winston Turner's. He was one of the very few survivors of that group. Turner kept a photograph of him and Ulandi from those days in his office.
