After the Korean War, it did not take long for Korea to reunited. On November 24, 1954, the once separated countries were united under democracy and thus the Republic of Korea (R.O.K. or Korea) was formed. The flag and symbol of Korea is a reference to the once divided Korea with the Reds in the north and the pro-democracy South with the blue. In Korea today there are three parties altogether: the Korean-Democratic party (conservative and pro-democracy), The Liberal Korean party, and The People-Workers Party (communist.) Although the threat of a communist Korea is alive, the People-Workers Party is the smallest party, only generating 5.6% of the National vote.
