Due to STC-O's slow updating schedule and the length of time since the print run's release, new Boomers were complaining that the stories were hard to get into without a knowledge of the universe's history. Although the Data Zone goes some way to describe characters and recent events, it was felt that a more general explanation of Sonic the Comic's history was needed. "New to STC?" is a story narrated by the Kintobor Computer. Told in panels, the tale covers Mobian history and the creation of Sonic the Hedgehog as Mobius' best-known hero.
