The sweat tent is a tradition among the Aiel. It is a tent that is kept enclosed against the cold of the desert night, even its smoke hole closed. Heated rocks are kept outside in the embers in a fire, and brought inside to keep the interior of the tent hot. Aiel enter the tent naked, and mingle sexes unashamedly. They scrape off the dirt of the day with staera, in lieu of washing with water.
