It occured when the Reapers begun their thirteenth consecutive harvest of life in the Milky Way galaxy. The war with the Order of Interstellar Governments was the first time the Reapers would see major resistance and considered organics an actual threat to their process. Inevitably, the Reapers managed to achieve total victory over the Milky Way races though with considerable complications.
