When Sonic went missing after the battle with the Xorda, King Maximillian Acorn commissioned Sonic's Uncle Chuck and Rotor to build an army of exactly a hundred Metal Sonics to act as Knothole's defense after Sonic's supposed death. By using the core-data from the original Metal Sonic that Charles had retrieved and adding a more streamlined construction, Charles and Rotor completed the project, but the army was never used as Sonic returned from space before the army could be activated.
