Bass Industries is possibly based on a real-life real estate construction company based in New York called the Trump Organization. The company is publicly-traded and the majority share holder was, until his death in 2009, Bart Bass, who owned 51% worth roughly one billion dollars. Socialite Lily Humphrey holds 20% of Bass Industries. Chuck Bass now owns 51% of the company, passed on from his father after his death.
