The AO-27 is a Soviet select-fire, gas-operated assault rifle, Designed by D.I. Shiryaev in 1961. The assault rifle is chambered with an original 7.62/3 mm OPS flechette sabot round. Tests shown excellent flatness and penetration of the flechette sabot rounds, but also, a slightly lower accuracy, comparing with common rounds.
