This species of bear-grouped animal is descended from the same ancestors as Asian giant pandas. It is similar to an Asian giant panda, but is slightly darker in color and its diet is not restricted to bamboo, it also feeds on grass, leaves, and berries. It lives in Western USA areas, including California, and Eastern USA areas, including Florida.
