The Battle of Temecula (April 15 - April 19, 1925) was a military engagement during the Japanese invasion of the United States, in which the remainder of the American resistance was pushed out of the village of Temecula, and toward San Diego. The battle was fought between the Imperial Japanese Army and the US Army and local resistance to the Japanese. The town was severely damaged, and a majority of the population was brutally massacred by the Japanese to lower the morale of the Americans. The massacre only caused more anti-Japanese sentiment to rise in the Midwest, Nevada and Arizona, and the East Coast.
