Qjell, or "QJ-((," is the god-king of the Njey (Deeplings). Qjell can be pleased by sacrifices of Hearts of the Sea. The Njey have no means of seeing Qjell, so they assume his omnipresence. The Njey follow orders from Qjell, training an army to attack the Hive Born, among others. There seems to have been another human survivor with Qjell, as a series of diaries have been found in the Hive underground: The Hive.
