The Zandheuvels is the small desert in the eastern part of Vanuku. Zandheuvels is Vanukuian for sandy hills. This small but vicious desert is only present in the Bommelaar province. In the eastern part of this desert there are very high mountains containing large amounts of minerals, mostly iron. No people live in the desert, mining camps are located just outside the desert on the eastern side of the mountains.
