The Godbird's soulstone is an unique item in Dragon Quest VIII that allows the party to fly. The soulstone is actually the remains of the Godbird's unborn child which the party fails to protect from Gemon. However, the essence left behind was still able to manifest into the soulstone who wishes to help the party none the less.
