Dan Curtis (August 12th, 1927 - March 27th, 2006) was the series creator and executive producer of the original Dark Shadows television series. He adapted a popular storyline from the series into the 1970 feature-length film, House of Dark Shadows. He then produced a quasi-sequel film called Night of Dark Shadows, which included a brand new storyline never before used in the series (although it did reinvent notable characters from the series such as Quentin Collins and Gerard Stiles). Curtis passed away twenty days after mourning the loss of his wife Norma on March 7, 2006.
