Tarakis was an uninhabited M-class planet in the Delta Quadrant. The planet was once home to a Nakan colony. In the 21st century, a group of soldiers led by Commander Saavdra was ordered to relocate the colonists, supposedly temporarily. However, the colonists resisted with arms, and the situation devolved into the Nakan massacre, in which 82 Nakan were killed.
