During the Khitomer Crisis Captain Qat'Anmek, your captain, has you beam aboard the Khitomer to assist them in repelling the Borg. When you're done assisting the Khitomer you find out that the Borg visited your ship and killed or captured all of the senior officers, leaving you as the highest ranking ensign aboard.
