This is a fun recipe one for the kids that my mother-in-law gave me. You make sugar cookies and then paint them with a evaporated milk-food coloring *paint.* Then you frost them with a powdered-sugar glaze. Colorful and fun! Cream the following ingredients: 3/4 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla Add to mixture: 2 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt Refrigerate dough for 1-2 hours Mix powdered sugar and water to make a thin glaze. Brush the glaze over the cookies while they are still warm. Remove the cookies from the cookie sheet before they cool, or they will stick.
