A ring of nine lives is an ivory ring with the face of a snarling cat. If the wearer falls unconscious or dies, one of the ring's "lives" will be used automatically to cast a heal spell on the wearer. Also, if the wearer needs extremely quick reflexes, strong willpower or extreme fortitude, he or she can use one of the "lives" for this purpose. One of these rings is worth around 70,000 gold pieces if all "lives" are intact, but usually these rings are found with some of the "lives" used up.
