The Fiends of Chaos are four monsters that steal the power of the elemental crystals. Without the power of the crystals, the world starts to decay and monsters begin to appear. In the final battle, Garland reveals that he had sent the Fiends 2000 years into the future (the present for the Light Warriors) in order to send him back to the past when the Light Warriors would defeat him. Thus creating a neverending loop in time. Each fiend is stronger than the last, ending with Tiamat, who declares himself to be far more powerful than the other three. After defeating all the Fiends the player must go into the past at the Shrine of Chaos. As you decend through the basement floors you fight enemies like the ones the Fiend controls, and then the Fiend in order to advance, until you reach BF 5, whe
