Captain Gene Hunt was the leader of the homocide division of a police precinct in 1970s Los Angeles who believed in violence over negotiation. In 1972, he was joined by Det. Sam Tyler, who awoke after being hit by a car in 2007. Together they investigated the disappearance of two women and the murders of Edward Kenmore.
