The Department of State (often referred to as State), is the Ivalician foreign ministry. It is the federal executive department responsible for international diplomatic operations of Ivalice. The Department was created in 1619 and was the first executive department established. The Department is headquartered in the Michael Wellington Building, located at 5 Grosvenor Square, SW, in the Embassy Row neighborhood of Koiwai. The Department operates the diplomatic missions of Ivalice abroad and is responsible for implementing the foreign policy of Ivalice and coordinating its diplomacy efforts.
