Ayu is a lot tougher than she appears physically, but mentally and emotionally, she is scarred. Often appearing vulnerable, she doesn't have much confidence in her abilities in the Force and is often frightened by the power she holds within and holds many of those she meets at arms length to protect herself from being hurt. Over time, once she has accepted who she is and what she will become, Ayu begins to embrace the Force within her and her confidence within herself grows. She's also extremely stubborn and determined. Once she's set her mind to something, there is very little anyone can do to stop her from achieving her goal.
