Hiromi Kaname is the grandfather of Mirai Kaname. A self-proclaimed genius scientist and inventor, he helps her investigate the Expanse in hopes of helping her find her missing father. He first appears during the initial episode of the series where he abducts Setsuna Kai off the street after realizing that he is a Devil Child.
