The Eight Division in the Gotei 13 was started over 1,000 Years ago by Zentaitoshitenkushimi Sonodeddo Banbutsunoreichou, alongside his daughter, Shitoyakahan Sonodeddo Banbutsunoreichou, who formed the Seventh Division. Shunsui Kyoraku was the Captain for over three hundred years; he bcame Captain Commander following Shigekuni Genryusai Yamamoto's death, but returned to his division upon Joel Goldsmith becoming the new Captain Commander. The Lieutenant is Nanao Ise.
