Hōraijima village was once a prospering community of humans, yōkai, and hanyō on the island of Hōraijima. One day however, the Four War Gods attacked it, killing the majority of the villagers. Following this, only hanyō children survived, until they were systematically sacrificed to sustain the powers of the Four War Gods.
